I try to start everyday with a few minutes reading a little in the Bible and then meditating on it. The verse for today was
Mark 13:33
“Watch out, stay alert; for you do not know when the appointed time is.
As I read it, I realized how comfortable, complacent and to be honest lazy I have become in my life, especially as it relates to the Kingdom. Likewise, while I don’t know your heart or anyone else’s, by observation ot sure seems to me that there arema lot of “Christians” like I have been.
My friends, brothers and sisters, NOW is the time to shake of the lethargy and cast off any weight of this world that holds us back.
“The fields are ripe and ready for harvesting.”
NOW is the time to seek Him with EVERYTHING we have.
NOW is the time to serve Him with EVERY calorie of energy within us.
We MUST live today like there is no tomorrow.
We are not promised a tomorrow, meaning today may be our last in this life. In addition, we still do not know the day or hour that He will return. He could appear in the sky literally in the “twinkling of an eye.”
May we then hear and follow the exhortation that Paul gave to the Colossians-
Colossians 3:23-24
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
I pray this message encourages and inspires you as it has me to be more diligent about the family business and about the message I am telling in my words and actions.
