As we prepare for a new year, so much focus, time and energy seems to be put into New Years being an opportunity for new beginnings. I will agree that it is a good opportunity to do some self assessment and set new goals and thus new paths for ourselves. However, as believers who are “In Christ”, EVERY DAY is New Years. Because of Christ and what he has done for us, anything and EVERYTHING in our passed is GONE. Every sin, every mistake, every failure He took them upon himself on the Cross and into the grave. When he then rose from the dead, all of that past stayed in the grave.
When we surrender our lives to Him, He lives in and through us. Thus, we have “The Resurrection and The Life” residing in and through us. There is now place for our past. Because of Him and his righteousness within us is the ability to walk in lives that are in unity with the plans and purposes of The Father. Yet because we are human, we still make poor choices and times. Yet even then each day is a new one. His grace, mercy, and love are never failing. His forgiveness is at our fingertips if we only ask for it and repent.
My friends, because of Christ EVERY DAY is a NEW YEAR’S DAY!
So as you enter into 2024, I encourage you to do 3 simple tasks, today and everyday –
Walk a life complete surrender to His Lordship.
When you stray from the path, quickly repent and ask for forgiveness.
Rejoice and Thank Him for his grave and neverending love and mercy.
I pray that you find EVERYDAY to be a NEW YOU DAY!!
