Heart of Hope

A message of hope and inspiration for the hurting

White as Snow

As I begin my comments on these passages, I don’t think that they will be very long as I feel they are pretty clear and straightforward in their meaning and message. Isaiah was prophesying regarding the coming of Jesus and what He would do for us. There is not many brighter or more noticeable colors than scarlet red. How appropriate that this the color identified here as it also symbolizes what is required to atone, or cover the sins – a blood sacrifice.

As we know are reminded in Romans and in 1 John, ALL have sinned and if say we haven’t we are liers and this have again sinned. Now, some may not like this or agree, but it is what I believe sin is sin. Whether it is something we see as minute as telling a lie or as horrible as killing someone, they are all the same. If it were not for Christ ANY and EVERY sin would separate us from God, and have a sentence of eternal death.

BUT, there is good news!

Jesus came to Earth, lived a life WITHOUT sin, and became the perfect sin offering by shedding his holy righteous blood for us. It gets even better. In the Law, the sacrifice only attoned or covered the sin. The blood of Jesus, the PERFECT LAMB of GOD, we have been cleansed and purified of our sins. In fact, as we see in 2 Corinthians, we are called the “Righteousness of God.”

So, how do we attain such purity and righteousness? Look again at the passage from 1 John. He gives 2 basic steps –

  • Confess your Sins
    • Acknowledge to ourselves
    • Confess to God
    • Repent and turn away from the sin
  • Walk in the Light as He is in the Light.
    • Love God
    • Love Others
    • Do the RIGHT thing when given a choice.
    • If we walk in the light as he is in the light, there is NO darkness in Him, so we should strive to be likewise.

My friends, brothers and sisters, I urge you let Him take your scarlet and crimson clothes and make them white as snow.

“Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.“. ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭1‬:‭18‬”

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,“. ‭‭Romans‬ ‭3‬:‭23‬

”But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.“. 1 John‬ ‭1‬:‭7‬-‭9‬

”God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.“. 2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭21‬
